Actress was born on August 30, 1972, San Diego, California. Daughter of Emilio Diaz, a second generation Cuban-American oil company, master, and his wife Billie, who is Native American, Italian and German descent, Diaz began modeling when she was 16 years old, her successful modeling career took him to Japan, Australia, Morocco and Paris, among other locales, landed her in magazines like Mademoiselle and seventeen, and advertising campaigns for companies like Calvin Klein, Coca-Cola and Levi.
In 1994, Diaz won his first film role in the blockbuster action comedy is a mask, starring rubber-faced comic Jim Carrey. Without previous acting experience, she had originally auditioned for a supporting character in the film. Twelve callbacks later, however, he was hired to torch-singing moll Tina Carlyle crowd, playing female lead.
